A time travel story of sisters, sailing, and perspectives

Synopsis
In her formative years Anne, an avid sailor, through family history and precociousness discovered a portal in the ocean allowing her to travel backwards through time.
Now older, she wants to share her adventures with her sister before they grow into their adult lives. Anne invites Izzy for a summer adventure on the sea…neglecting to inform her sister of the date of their destination, 1649.

Isabelle (playfully known to her friends as Izzy D St. G) is an aspiring chef full of ideas and enthusiasm about food, gardening, and life in general.
On her 25th birthday, Izzy receives an unusual gift - an offer from her adoptive sister Anne to come sailing on her yacht with her for an entire summer.
An overachiever by nature, the idea of taking an entire summer at sea at first seems quixotic. Who will look after her horses, or care for her plants, or attend the many meetings she has to sit in on?
But the allure of stepping into her sister’s seemingly carefree existence is irresistible, and now Izzy is heading for a summer she can’t even begin to imagine.
How to read this story
We were intrigued by the idea of telling the same story from two vastly different perspectives. Each character's story can be read from start to finish as one complete story. Pick and choose as it suits your style and enjoy!

Excerpt from Anne (The Bitch Captain):
I smiled as she stumbled her way across the boards and piled her plate with the gourmet boat snacks she insisted I stock in the galley. I watched her sway and rock with the sea as she stuffed her face with some tomato mozzarella mixture and thought to myself that, at most, there was a 60/40 chance she’d kill me. Maybe 70/30. Okay fine. I had, at the very least, a 25 percent chance of surviving the moment where she would figure out what I had done -- which was kidnap her a little bit.
Izzy had stepped foot on this ship for one reason and one reason only: I’d begged her. Actually, I had done much more than beg; I had bribed, groveled, guilted, and connived her into getting on the boat. I had also lied my ass off. As far as she knew we were on a fun sisterly cruise, our destination being every bar, beach, and cabana in the Caribbean. One slight wrinkle...we weren’t doing any of that at all.
We were going a-time-traveling.

Excerpt from Izzy (The Lady):
“I have a different sort of present for you this year. Come sailing with me. A whole summer. Just the two of us. What do you think?”
My sister, Anne, had sailed into Heron’s Landing back in March for my 25th birthday and dropped that bomb on me.
Usually, my sister brought me cute, random little things - silly t-shirts, a handmade lanyard, a pretty teacup. This year, her gift was extremely generous: an offer to come sailing with her for the summer. An adventure on the high seas, she’d announced grandly. My sister and I hadn’t taken a leisure trip on the ocean together in some time. Years. And for this sisterly summer at sea, she had even renovated her ship, the Try Your Luck, adding showers and a full galley with room for my plants and a top of the line stove with gimbals.
Weeks later, and I still didn’t have an answer.
Summer vacation. I snorted to myself as Persephone trotted down the trail. Grown ups didn’t get to take summer vacations, not really. I certainly didn’t. There were barely enough hours in the day already. I turned Persephone back towards the house and started up my mental to do list for the day. My sister’s ship loomed at the dock, tempting me like phantom treasure at the end of the rainbow.
